Meet the Team

Brandi Kirkland – Asset Management/Acquisitions
Ms. Kirkland founded Autonomous Buildings and is responsible for the company's overall strategic direction, capital and partner relationships. Day to day Brandi leads underwriting and selection of assets and is responsible for daily operations, income growth, cash flow and tenant relations. With 18 years of asset management experience she has personally overseen more than 13,500 residences and 1.5mm SF across commercial and multi-family real estate type, class and demographic. Brandi’s experience in distressed turn arounds, financial audits and operations combine unique skillsets for AB’s rigid purchase criteria. Brandi has acquired, re-positioned, sold and recapitalized numerous portfolios for institutions and family offices in TX, LA, OK, AZ and CO. She has negotiated from the state to local community levels for her capital clientele. Some of her previous clients were: Plains Capital Bank, Pacific West Mgmt., Alliance Co., The Lynd Co., Equity Secured Family Office Funds, Babcock & Brown, Wyatt Residential Mgmt., West-Corp and Lackland Holdings. 
Bob Lanham – Operations/Business Development 
Mr. Lanham leads construction and project management and is responsible for executing the building upgrades on time and budget without disrupting cash flows or tenant experience.  Bob also supports business development and long-term growth strategies.  Bob’s 30 yrs. of operational experience across multiple disciplines bring on-site execution and project scale amongst a national contractor network.  As a Marine Corps Colonel, fighter/attack pilot, strategic planner and process improvement leader Bob has consulted for institutional clients on:  real estate, manufacturing, distribution and project management.  Bob’s previous oversight of large scale geographically diverse portfolios in both the private and public sectors affords highly efficient project execution.
Donnie Herrin – Building Automation/Data
Mr. Herrin leads data collection, building automation and facility data analytics and is responsible for the sustainment of operational cost savings.  With over 25 years’ experience in the energy efficiency and automation industries, Donnie has executed projects over millions of square feet that includes electricity and gas procurement, data systems, mechanical upgrade/replacement strategies, building automation and energy management systems.  Donnie’s Marine Corps background lends to his ability to integrate field level skills with a corporate-level, enterprise focus.  He has conducted and managed building infrastructure, utilities and conducted numerous ASHRAE Level I, II and III energy studies for institutional and private portfolios in every type, class and demographic in commercial and industrial real estate markets.  Some of Donnie’s former clients include:  Hudson Americas, the City of Hildago Texas, Perot Systems, Lone Star Energy Services (Lone Star Gas), Frito Lay, Johnson Controls, Texas A&M Energy Systems Laboratory and Trane.
